Have you just bought an LG Smart TV and thought you might watch your favourite programmes on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5? Then, after hours of searching, you’ve discovered you can’t actually find the My5, ITV Hub and All 4 apps. Well, they might not actually be there! But take a look at a way around the issue.

How to get My5, ITV Hub and All 4 On A LG smart TV
Sky App On Lg Tv Channel
I know this is a money saving and making blog, but I do also love my technology, it’s just that I have little time to write much about it. But you can take a look at my reviews of some smart tech, like smart meters and smart thermostats if you have a few minutes.
I like to keep to a budget when it comes to spending, but televisions are one area I don’t mind spending a bit extra on. I bought my first 28″ Sony widescreen in the late 90s’ and since then, I’ve been hooked with going bigger and better.
In 2019, I bought a LG 65″ OLED TV, which is just an awesome picture. It also came with all the apps I needed and the operating system was far quicker compared to the Sony that I owned previously.
But this month, we decided to redecorate our bedroom and I opted to upgrade from our old Samsung TV. It wasn’t a bad television and had most of the apps I needed, but it was a little small and I couldn’t add newer apps like Disney+ and Britbox.
After quite a bit of searching, I decided to go with a 43″ 2020 LG television. After all, it had good reviews and I knew what to expect from it… wrong!
Nope, it looks like a lot of the 2020 LG TVs didn’t come with some useful apps like ITV Hub, All 4 and My5. Having a quick search on the internet, it seems that LG failed to come to an agreement with Freeview for some of their latest models, hence why the apps aren’t added.
It’s not all bad news though. BBC iPlayer has been added, which has previously been left off older versions.
Two solutions
There are three possible solutions to the issue of the missing. The first is to purchase something like an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Mac tunnelblick skin. This will allow you to download even more apps and give you access to more content. The downside is you will need to plug it into your TV and have an extra plug socket close by.
If you don’t want the Fire Stick, the simple solution is to use the LG web browser. Macgo mac blu-ray player. This is an app meant for browsing the web, but fortunately, it will give you access to the on-demand services we are after.
Below is a step-by-step guide for each service.
How do I get All 4 on my LG Smart TV?
- Press the home button on your remote
- Scroll until you reach the web browser
- Press select
- In the search bar, enter https://www.channel4.com/
- You will then need to log in. If you don’t have an account already, it may be easier to create one on a device with a keyboard
- Add the site to bookmarks (this is usually in a menu on the top right)
- Once you start watching, choose the box in the bottom right-hand corner for fullscreen
How do I get My5 on my LG Smart TV?
- Press the home button on your remote
- Scroll until you reach the web browser
- Press select
- In the search bar, enter https://my5.tv
- My5 doesn’t require you to log in to watch, although it’s useful for remembering your favourite programmes.
- Add the site to bookmarks (this is usually in a menu on the top right)
- Once you start watching, choose the box in the bottom right-hand corner for fullscreen
How do I get ITV Hub on my LG Smart TV?
Before you follow the steps below, it may be worth checking to see if your TV has updated (or needs updating). Thanks to Michael in the comments for pointing out that ITV Hub has now been added to some 2020 LG models… mine included!
- Press the home button on your remote
- Scroll until you reach the web browser
- Press select
- In the search bar, enter https://www.itv.com/hub/itv
- As you do with All 4, again, you need to log in to watch shows.
- Add the site to bookmarks (this is usually in a menu on the top right)
- Once you start watching, choose the box in the bottom right-hand corner for fullscreen
Sky News App On Lg Tv
Please note that there seems to be an issue with increasing the size of the picture to full screen with ITV Hub. I will see if there’s solution.

Casting or screen mirroring
If you have a mobile phone or tablet device, it may be possible that you can cast or mirror the screen onto your TV. Just download the app of your choice and select the cast option. However, this does depend on the make of your device and the model of your TV.
Will this work on Samsung, Sony and other TV brands?
Although I have written the guide specifically for LG, there’s no reason why you can’t watch My5, ITV Hub and All 4 using the same method on any other major brand of TV. As long as they have a web browser or a casting option, you should be able to watch your favourite apps.
I’ll admit that using the web browser isn’t ideal, but it is the best way to watch your favourite apps. But please note, I do find that All 4 isn’t the most responsive through the web browser and can be a little slow.
